ToH Video Replay Review 41: Just Toying With Him
Here’s the second video replay i promised you to make up for missing week 39. If anything could describe this game it would be unexpected. It is a game between Dave (AKA ConstantlyLAID) and PontificulSwissGuard. It was part of the RepLAID pack that went out last week and we wanted to do a game from it before too many people watched them. Suffice it to say it was not what we thought it would be! Dave seems to be just playing with his opponent, seemingly giving himself a handicap by losing 3 squads early in the game, making a comeback with some excellent grenade work, and, well, it’s a twist ending you might say

jesus, this pro game was so much worse and more boring than the 2v2 amateur game. there was such bad play and so many mistakes even i wouldnt have made that i actually minimized it after about 20 mins. shoutcast was n1 though! keep em coming. just do more submitted replays and more 2v2s and 3v3s please.

you guys must be joking.. you can hardly call this one a replay or an “exciting episode of Tales of Heroes”. The whole show is one big joke. The axis guy is just bunkering up like playing against a very-easy CPU player and the allied player could have impossible lost this game. This is a joke, give us the real replay!

it was bad.. but its ok i guess. you have to consider that they never know what will be in the replay as well until they watch it. plus we got an awesome videoreplay earlier today and the shoutcast in the second one was still very entertaining… im allright with it. just get more long submitted replays next plx

The most boring replay I have seen here on ToH. What should be interesting in watching a player get owned that badly?
Can’t imagine why this crap has made it in a replay pack…. “look at me, I am winning against a noobish player, look at me, I am cool” It’s just pathetic.
In the last replays you could not tell who was winning for most of the time, as the battle was shifting back and forth.. like on the 9 vs about 350 VP match @ Lyon, but this was just soo clear and boring for most of the time..
At least the comments where nice as usual.

Guys, i assumed if somebody was going to put it into a clan replay pack, it would be a pretty good game between high level players. Turns out i was wrong

Bridger have you ever thought that DAVE wanted to fuck up your show with a crap replay and make you guys look like fools. I loved it when Vit said the Axis player has a very defencive player that was the understatment of the year.

Bloody hell that was awful…worst replay ever on ToH IMO.
I even watched to the end waiting for “the Twist” advertised in the blurb…more fool me.
Shame as the 2v2 on Rails & Metal was very entertaining. For the whole last half of the game Iw anted to shout: “Stuka their 105mms NOOB!”.

to be honest… it wasn’t the best replay in the pack by any means… Gunner vs. Suicidal, Robo vs. German, me vs. Fallshirm were all better IMHO… the best games were the 2v2s though by far…

Great show in general keep up the good work but this was easily the worst show to date due to the battle being plain shit.

Sure, if it’s just fun, then bring it on. Just do a “just kidding” after.
It was just a bit rich coming from Bridger as he has that quintessential in-your-face, over-zealous, do-your-head-in energy and intensity that many of you Americans have (not all, but a fucking lot).
So, as us Brits were getting the piss taken out of us, I thought I would bite back.
After all, he’s in this for the money so he’s fair game.
But please let me stress that I enjoy the shows very much and I’m sure I would have a great laugh with Bridger over a beer (for a while). I enjoy some of his humour.

The irony of the situation wasn’t lost on me.
Except there is nothing wrong with a generalisation if it is true. Also this forum isn’t read by many people. Bridgers show is watched by many times more.
True Generalisation: Lots of us Brits find many of you Americans annoying / incompatible as friends just down to the way you speak. You are too OTT for us. You insta do our heads in, even with 1 sentence.
I take it most Americans know this?
(Probably you find our reservedness annoying - I dunno)
EG I meet an American in the pub. He is friendly but OTT for my British taste. The intensity with which he suggested to “Come and have a beer with us” made me run a mile. He was shouting it and it was insta-annoying.
False Generalisation: British person is pompous because he has a posh accent.

I don’t watch this show for streamlined PC-ness. Bridger/Vitensby put a lot of humor into the show and it is one of the many reasons I watch this.
You will find a lot of insults and stupid remarks in most gaming forums and you can even find them in CoH replays sometimes (just look at what the players are typing!) - but I do not remember Bridger being out of line even once in his commentary.
By the way, jim_01, IMHO by the choice of your words you put up a lot of effort to get your posts deleted. You’re the one who is out of line here.
